Vicodin Detox
Because Vicodin is both physically and psychologically addictive, the detox process will address both of these areas. Symptoms of withdrawal can begin in as few as 6 hours after the last dose. These symptoms include nausea, vomiting, cold sweats, diarrhea, and bone pain. The facility’s staff will make the addict as comfortable as possible during this period. Doctors will look for signs of other medical problems that might result from Vicodin use including hearing loss and liver injury.
If the user experiences any medically treatable psychological withdrawal symptoms as a result of detox, such as anxiety or depression, the medical professionals will treat these accordingly. After detox is completed, the recovering addict will participate in facility-sponsored rehab activities and counseling sessions. These sessions are designed to help the addict address and heal the issues behind their addiction and to adjust behaviorally to their new, addiction-free life.
