Question: How long does it take to quit Oxycontin "cold turkey" where it's completely out of your system? I tested my son two weeks ago with a 300mg test and it wasn't solid, but a solid fail on a 100mg. test, and all signs of his behavior look like he feel off the wagon since he has been skipping out on the test today. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer: Depending on the type of test and several other factors, oxycodone, the drug in oxycontin, may be detected in the urine for up to 4 days. Factors that affect the length of the detection period include age, kidney and liver function, and how much and how long the individual has been using the drug.
