Question: i am currently on a methadone reduction program. I take 48 mls daily reducing by 2 ml per month. I am 33 weeks pregnant. How will it affect my unborn child?

Addiction SpecialistAnswer: Many addiction specialists feel that significant opiate withdrawal is more harmful for a fetus than methadone. Every case is different. Tell your doctor about being on methadone so that they can weigh the risks and benefits of continued use in your particular case and provide you with the best guidance.
