Addiction SpecialistAnswer: Unfortunately, there is not. The reason for this is that rapid detox from benzodiazepines (the class of drug Xanax belongs to) can induce seizures. This is also the reason why medical supervision from regular benzodiazepine detox is so improtant. This is particularly true for Xanax because it has a very short half-life and leaves the body very quickly which increases the risk of seizure. On a related topic, rapid detox from opiates which is accomplished by putting the individual under general anesthesia and administering an opiate antagonist which rapidly induces severe withdrawal is a controversial procedure which has lead to death in some cases.
