Answer: Crystal meth is a central nervous system stimulant and Xanax is a central nervous system depressant. Because these drugs have opposing effects, taking them together can result in an accidental overdose of one or both because the subjective effects of each may be diminished. An overdose of crystal meth can result in potentially fatal heart attacks and strokes while an overdose of Xanax can result in potentially fatal respiratory depression (decreased breathing) especially if alcohol is consumed as well.
